On October 26, the Army National Guard posted a request for information to support the Army National Guard (ARNG) in achieving headquarters level strategic analysis for the success of multiple programs. Responses are due by 2:00 p.m. Eastern on November 8.
The areas of support include three general business operations support services: (1) strategic level plans and analysis, strategic event planning, and policy review; (2) knowledge management, collection, implementation, integration, and maturity assessments; and (3) readiness assessments, data collection and analysis. These support services will span two separate and unique offices – the G2 (Intelligence Directorate) and G3 (Operations and Training Directorate).
The Army National Guard G3, Operations and Training Directorate, functions similar to an Army Major Command in order to plan, program, budget, and execute Army and ARNG programs cross the 54 states and territories. The G3 serves as the equivalent to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Training, and Readiness in any MACOM headquarters. Support entails strategic analysis, data collection, research and analysis, unit readiness analysis, training program analysis, planning, and knowledge management directly and indirectly related to ARNG-G3 programs and strategic initiatives. ARNG-G3 Operations Division, Futures Branch, Readiness Plans Division, and Resource Integration manage this effort. The duties performed take place in separate branches across ARNG-G3 Operations Division: Futures Branch, Readiness Plans Division, and Resource Integration. Services identified within the PWS are required to support higher levels of readiness, prioritizing efforts, and enhancing capabilities to prepare a force capable of performing on the battlefield and addressing any disaster on the home front.
Army National Guard G2 Directorate is a functional proponent of the National Guard Bureau (NGB) staff. It provides strategic resource and policy guidance and oversight of ARNG organization, readiness, training, and operations to ensure ARNG Military Intelligence (MI) Soldiers are fully capable of mobilizing and deploying in support of Combatant Commander (CCMD), Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA), and Governor’s domestic response requirements. The ARNG-G2, Army National Guard serves as the equivalent to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence in any MACOM headquarters. Support entails strategic analysis, data collection, research and analysis, unit readiness analysis, training program analysis, planning, and knowledge management directly and indirectly related to ARNG-G2 programs and strategic initiatives. ARNG-G2 Intelligence Programs Division, Intelligence Futures Branch, Training and Readiness Branch, Programs and Budget Branch and the Security Programs Division manage this effort. Duties performed take place primarily in ARNG-G2 Intelligence Futures Branch, Intelligence Programs Division.
