Leidos unveils HeadWay Dispatch

As AI agents take on more responsibility and act with limited human involvement, organizations need to be able to set clear operating limits while keeping people in charge of critical decisions. Leidos is addressing that need with HeadWay Dispatch, a new platform that gives organizations three ways to govern AI agents, the company announced November 4.

What it provides, according to Leidos:

  • Vendor flexibility: Apply safeguards to AI agents from different providers without rebuilding or replacing them, helping organizations preserve existing investments and reduce dependence on a single vendor.
  • Faster operator decisions: Give operators a unified view of agent activity, approvals and alerts, so they can act without switching between tools.
  • Credential protection: Secure passwords and API keys by routing AI agent requests through HeadWay Dispatch, eliminating the need for agents to store credentials and reducing the risk of theft by malicious actors.

“HeadWay Dispatch is designed to give organizations oversight without requiring them to start over with their existing AI investments,” said Steve Hull, president of Leidos Digital. “As AI agents operate with greater autonomy, organizations need to know when to trust them, when to intervene and how to account for their actions.”

Leidos is developing two additional HeadWay Dispatch capabilities: Experience, which will tailor what each operator sees based on their role and mission needs, and Intelligence, which will coordinate AI agents from different vendors under a common policy. Leidos is also extending HeadWay Dispatch so its controls hold when network connections are degraded or lost.
