NavAir seeks industry input on acquisition process for ISR aerostats
On November 21, the Naval Air Systems Command issued a request for information on whether to conduct a competitive procurement for TIF-25K aerostats (Solicitation Number: N68335-17-R-0052).
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to issue a delivery order, under previously awarded Basic Ordering Agreement N68335-13-G-0012, on a non-competitive basis with Aerostar Integrated Systems (AIS), 360B Quality Circle, Huntsville, AL, 35806, for the procurement of AIS TIF-25K aerostats, tether-up spares, line replaceable units and components, field service representatives, travel, and technical support. The AIS equipment and support will provide round-the-clock real time intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for the purposes of force and forward operating base protection, counter-improvised explosive devise support, and for maritime domain awareness, person of interest tracking, and border security. The Government intends to procure the above under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1.
All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
