Lockheed Martin is accelerating quantum development with the newly launched Lockheed Martin Quantum Innovation Center (Lockheed Martin QuIC), a unified hub to grow quantum research, development and prototypes for critical national security missions of the future, the company announced September 23.
For more than 15 years, Lockheed Martin has pioneered cutting-edge quantum technology spanning navigation, communications, and sensing, while leveraging the power of advanced quantum computing. To continue advancing these transformation capabilities, Lockheed Martin QuIC combines enterprise-level engineering rigor with the speed of innovation, empowering delivery of defense-ready quantum capabilities to outpace future threats.

The QuIC will operate as a center of excellence, providing capabilities in R&D across a wide range of quantum applications. This includes expertise in integrating and leveraging quantum technology developed outside of Lockheed Martin, like portfolio companies funded through Lockheed Martin Ventures capital, which recently expanded to a $1 billion fund. The reach of Lockheed Martin’s quantum capabilities also extends internationally, including the recent Swiss Innovation Hub launched in collaboration with IBM and ETH Zurich, as well as $100 million in Ventures funding for investments in the United Kingdom and Europe that advance key future technologies like quantum research.
