RiskIQ, the company that enables organizations to detect and mitigate customer facing threats, announced on September 16 the appointment of former TIBCO executive Mike Travis as its vice president of sales for the Eastern U.S. region.

Travis brings nearly 20 years of technology sales and management experience to RiskIQ. He will head sales and pre-sales organizations across the Northeastern and Southeastern U.S.

“We are pleased that Mike has decided to join RiskIQ. He’s a proven sales executive with the right combination of leadership, business management and IT operations experience to head up the all-important Eastern US region.”

“The rising number of attacks being launched from legitimate and fake Web sites and mobile apps is generating tremendous interest for the RiskIQ service from large North American companies,” said Erik Laird, Executive VP Sales at RiskIQ. “We are pleased that Mike has decided to join RiskIQ. He’s a proven sales executive with the right combination of leadership, business management and IT operations experience to head up the all-important Eastern US region.”

Travis joined RiskIQ from TIBCO Software, Inc., a global leader in infrastructure and business intelligence software. As sales director, he was responsible for building TIBCO’s Southeast commercial team for the healthcare vertical. Previously, he was sales director for HP Software’s strategic accounts responsible for the Eastern region of the U.S. Before HP, Travis was vice president at Orasi Software, an HP Software Platinum Reseller/Services provider, where he helped the company grow to $30 million in annual revenues.

“I am excited to join RiskIQ,” said Mike Travis. “The company has built a one-of-a-kind technology that uniquely addresses customer facing threats on a company’s Web and mobile properties. There’s a big and growing market opportunity for RiskIQ in financial services, healthcare, retail and media, with many leading companies concentrated in the Eastern U.S. region.”
