MacB partners on contract supporting nuclear command, control and communications
MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) of Dayton, OH announced on November 14 that the company has partnered with Miracle Systems, LLC to provide technical communications expertise for Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), supporting U.S. National Leadership Command Capabilities (NLCC) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3). The contract period is for three years and work will be performed at AFGSC headquarters at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
AFGSC is part of U.S. Strategic Command and provides combat-ready forces to conduct strategic nuclear deterrence and global strike operations in support of combatant commanders. NC3 is a large and complex system of activities, processes, and procedures comprised of numerous terrestrial, airborne, and space-based components used to assure connectivity between the President of the United States and nuclear forces. The complex architecture of systems supports day-to-day nuclear and conventional operations prior to a nuclear event, as well as those that provide survivable, secure, and enduring communications through all threat environments.
MacB information technology professionals and NLCC/NC3 experts will study, analyze, research and develop deliverables to advance program performance. MacB will also assist with systems acquisition and sustainment efforts along the program continuum from Initial Operational Capability (IOC), to Full Operational Capability (FOC), and through Disposal/Demilitarization.
“Support for the Air Force Global Strike mission is a pillar for our long-term Strategic Command customer,” said Fred Norman, senior vice president and general manager of MacB’s Mission Systems Group (MSG). “We were fortunate to support AFGSC mission operations at the beginning of the program in 2009, and this win extends our continuous presence at Barksdale AFB. It also reflects MacB’s strategic growth into the nuclear enterprise with our core command and control capabilities.”
