Showcasing its five-ounce micro military communications mode interoperability module, General Dynamics Mission Systems successfully demonstrated microtransponder military mode commands at a recent Innovation and Modernization Patuxent River (IMPAX) Demonstration, the Falls Church, VA-based company announced November 6.
The demonstration validates the innovative advances General Dynamic Mission Systems has made towards miniaturized encryption in a size, weight and power (SWaP) specifically designed to enable small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) requiring critical security. The micro military communications module can also be used by other SWaP-constrained manned and unmanned platforms.
General Dynamics Mission Systems’ miniaturized multi-functional military communications module simplifies integration, maintenance and logistics. Its enhanced capabilities make it field programmable and software upgradable using a standard military processor, and can support a variety of relevant military communications, as well as performing the protection of data at rest.
