On November 2, General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, announced that it has expanded its partnership with AppGate through a strategic collaboration agreement to deliver advanced zero trust solutions and strengthen cyber resilience across the federal government.
Zero trust is a cybersecurity approach that assumes networks and systems are already compromised, requiring continuous monitoring and verification of every user, AI agent, device and data resource as they move through applications and the network. As AI fundamentally changes the speed, scale and complexity of cyber threats across traditional IT networks and Operational Technology (OT) systems, strengthening defenses with robust zero trust capabilities is a major concern for government organizations. The Department of War is prioritizing the implementation of proven zero trust solutions to protect sensitive data, assets and services. Additionally, many civilian and health agencies are strengthening their security postures to defend against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.
Through this partnership, GDIT will combine its cyber and technology expertise with AppGate’s zero trust capabilities, enabling agencies and their mission partners to connect and share information securely across multiple systems in any environment. GDIT will integrate AppGate’s offerings into its flexible, scalable and cost-effective Everest zero trust solutions that can be deployed quickly to support enterprise, inter-agency and tactical edge missions.
“Federal agencies need cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions that are flexible, dependable and built for the environments where missions happen,” said Ben Gianni, GDIT senior vice president and chief technology officer. “By teaming with AppGate to accelerate zero trust implementation, we’re giving agencies a stronger way to protect vital information and work more securely with their mission partners.”
GDIT already implements AppGate technology across several major national security missions, including the first and only zero trust solution to successfully complete a government “red team” cyber assessment of an upgraded IT system.
“Warfighters and federal agencies operate at scale in the most demanding environments in the world,” said Leo Taddeo, CEO of AppGate. “Our partnership with GDIT reflects a shared commitment to protecting the missions that can’t fail. From enterprise IT and operational technology to the tactical edge, AppGate Zero Trust Network Access delivers the speed and security those missions demand.”
