DSI to host 7th Border Security & Intelligence Summit
Defense Strategies Institute will be hosting the 7th Border Security & Intelligence Summit on April 10-11, 2019 at the Mary M. Gates Learning Center in Alexandria, VA. The 2019 Border Security & Intelligence Summit brings together members of DHS, law enforcement community, IC, and critical industry and academia partners to highlight the existing gaps in effectively protecting our homeland, and the technological and intelligence capabilities required in order to succeed in keeping our nation safe.
The main objective of this year’s summit is to highlight the current administration’s focus on the crucial need for advanced surveillance and intelligence capabilities. Discussions will center around initiatives and capabilities required to adequately support our nation’s border patrol professionals in keeping the citizens of the United States safe.
This year’s confirmed speakers include:
• Kevin McAleenan, Commissioner, Customs and Border Protection
• David Glawe, Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis, Department of Homeland Security
• Manuel Padilla, Jr., Director, Joint Task Force-West, Department of Homeland Security
• Jeffrey T. Walsh, Director, El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC), Drug Enforcement Administration
• Mike Pullman, Deputy Director, Air and Marine Operations Center, Customs and Border Protection
• Brian Hastings, Chief of Law Enforcement Operations, U.S. Border Patrol
This summit will foster discussion between senior leaders in the homeland security community with the goal of enhancing border security and creating effective partnerships between the government and private industry to find solutions for improved homeland security. Join us for an honest, closed-to-the-press, and non-attribution discussion to better understand how we protect our border from transnational crime and unlawful trade and travel.
Seating is limited to allow for actionable discussion in a “Town Hall” format. Active military, government and state personnel attend free of charge. Those interested in participating in the 2019 Border Security & Intelligence Summit may visit the website at bordersecuritysummit.dsigroup.org/
