DNI releases National Intelligence Program FY 2020 appropriations budget figure

Consistent with section 601 of the Implementing the Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 (P.L. 110-53), as amended (50 U.S.C. 3306), the Director of National Intelligence is disclosing to the public the aggregate amount of appropriations requested for Fiscal Year 2020, ODNI announced March 18.

The aggregate amount of appropriations requested for the FY 2020 National Intelligence Program (NIP) is $62.8 billion, which includes funding requested to support Overseas Contingency Operations.

Any and all subsidiary information concerning the NIP budget, whether the information concerns particular intelligence agencies or particular intelligence programs, will not be disclosed. Beyond the disclosure of the NIP top-line figure, there will be no other disclosures of currently classified NIP budget information because such disclosures could harm national security. The only exceptions to the foregoing are for unclassified appropriations, such as for the Intelligence Community Management Account.
