DAF seeks data, AI expertise
On February 26, the U.S. Air Force posted a sources sought notice for Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Subject Matter Experts (SME) Support Services. Responses are due by 12:00 p.m. Eastern on March 11.
The Department of the Air Force (DAF) Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Office (DAF CDAO), is conducting market intelligence to identify sources for a potential requirement for Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Subject Matter Experts (SME) Support services in accordance with the attached Performance Work Statement. The Government is still in the early acquisition planning stage and all activities at this time are considered market intelligence.
DAF CDAO is responsible for strategy, governance, policy, advocacy and oversight for the advancement and operationalization of data and AI and the ethical framework to support military and strategic advantage for the DAF enterprise. Recognizing independently developed and deployed data platforms impede ability to deliver accessible data and capabilities, facilitate data management, and analytic collaboration, the Air Force Chief Data Office was established July 19, 2017. The office was originally tasked primarily with the responsibility to strategically manage and exploit the information assets of the Department of the Air Force toward optimizing readiness, driving innovation and increasing lethality in and across all mission areas.
