Senior enlisted advisor represents DIA with Virginia governor
DIA’s Senior Enlisted Advisor, Chief Master Sgt. Troy Eden, joined Virginia senior military and civilian leaders for a reception hosted by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe at the executive mansion in Richmond, VA, on June 26.
McAuliffe stated during the event that he wouldn’t mind his legacy being known as the “veteran governor” if it meant he was able to take care of the nation’s sixth largest concentration of veterans and second largest active duty contingent. The governor’s remarks were well received by the senior leadership representing the state’s Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard installations and commands, according to a prepared statement issued by the DIA.
During his term as the 72nd governor, McAuliffe has stated his intent to improve the lives and conditions of the state’s veteran population and current service members. McAuliffe has charged his staff, including Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security retired Admiral John Harvey, to develop programs and mechanisms to provide homes and jobs for returning veterans.
