Counter narcotics support sought for Columbia’s maritime forces

The U.S. State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs has issued a solicitation that calls for an individual to fulfill a “personal service contract” by advising Colombia’s Navy, Coast Guard and Marines on their narcotics trafficking interdiction efforts.

“The Maritime Interdiction Advisor will strengthen the institutional capacity of Colombia’s naval, coastal, and riverine forces involved in the interdiction of narcotics trafficking and the disruption of organized crime activities in the maritime environment,” explains the solicitation which was issued on May 28.

The position will be located in the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia and will require that the chosen individual will support Colombian counter narcotics operations in maritime areas.

Among a wide range of responsibilities, the chosen contractor will support Colombian Navy Intelligence with command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I), says the notice.

Interested parties are asked to respond to the solicitation by June 11.
