SAIC announces Defense Solutions leadership changes
On April 29, Reston, VA-based Science Applications International Corp. announced key leadership changes within the Defense Solutions Group. Gabe Camarillo will lead the company’s Naval Sea and Air Systems Operations as its new senior vice president and operations manager. Additionally, SAIC’s Josh Jackson, will lead the Navy and Marine Corps Information Warfare Operation as its new senior vice president and operations manager, effective immediately.
Camarillo and Jackson will report directly to Jim Scanlon, executive vice president and general manager of the Defense Systems Group.
Camarillo joined SAIC in 2017 and most recently served as vice president of Strategy for the Defense Systems Group. Prior to joining SAIC, he served over seven years in leadership roles in national security in the Department of Defense, most recently as the assistant secretary of the U.S. Air Force (Manpower & Reserve Affairs). Preceding this, Camarillo served as the principal deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Army (Acquisition, Logistics & Technology), where he helped oversee and manage the Army’s acquisition portfolio and investment. Camarillo also has extensive experience as a lawyer in private practice and previously worked on national security issues as a legislative aide for a Member of Congress. Camarillo replaces Rick Sabol, who will retire after a 37-year career in Navy defense contracting, including 10 years with SAIC.
“Gabe has been a valuable asset to our team for the past three years. He has assisted in designing and implementing the company’s strategic direction as it relates to our Department of Defense business, and I am confident in Gabe’s ability to carry on Rick’s great work and build upon his success to take the NAVSEA/NAVAIR operation to greater heights,” said Scanlon.
Jackson joined SAIC in 2002 and has successfully led programs, divisions, and organizations in support of defense and national security customers prior to leading the Solutions and Technology Group. In his most recent role, he was responsible for leading strategy and market growth and for developing solutions that capitalize on the company’s capabilities in cloud and infrastructure; software; cyber; analytics; engineering, integration, and logistics; and training and mission solutions. Prior to joining SAIC, Jackson served in several Engineering and program leadership roles at Northrop Grumman. SAIC Vice President of Training and Mission Solutions Jeff Raver will assume the role of interim general manager of the Solutions and Technology Group.
“Josh has played a critical role in maturing our operating model and leading our Solutions and Technology Group. He has been an exceptional leader and partner, and I am thrilled to welcome him to the Defense Solutions Group as he transitions into the next chapter of his tenure with SAIC,” said Scanlon. “Josh is a valuable asset to our team, and I know he will continue to deliver compelling solutions and drive growth in our Navy and Marine Corps accounts that differentiate SAIC as a market leader.”
