Unisys wins contract to support DoD data center in Ogden, Utah
Unisys recently was awarded a contract from the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to provide a range of data center support services. Under the contract, worth up to $28 million if all options are exercised, Unisys will continue its work at DISA’s Defense Enterprise Computing Center in Ogden, Utah, supporting activities such as enterprise resource planning; database management and administration; and Unix, Linux and Windows systems management.
The services support mission-critical applications for logistics, maintenance, finance, planning and support, and other functions for defense organizations.
The Ogden center provides information processing services to a diverse group of Defense Department organizations around the globe. The award extends Unisys’ work at the Ogden center, where the company has provided information technology support services for more than 20 years.
The contract was awarded as a task order under DISA’s $12 billion ENCORE II program. Unisys was one of the 26 vendors selected by DISA in 2008 to compete for task orders under the ENCORE II program. The task order is firm-fixed-price and includes one base year followed by four one-year option periods.
“DISA’s extension of our work at the Ogden Defense Enterprise Computing Center will allow Unisys to continue supporting the Defense Department as it moves forward with its Joint Information Environment to improve the department’s information sharing and security posture,” said Gene Zapfel, group vice president for defense and intelligence agencies at Unisys Federal Systems. “We welcome this opportunity to reinforce our longstanding commitment to helping DISA achieve its mission to provide IT services to U.S. Defense Department agencies worldwide.”
