True Anomaly names Frank Calvelli to board

On February 4, True Anomaly Inc. announced the appointment of Frank Calvelli to its board of directors. Calvelli is an accomplished defense and space expert bringing over three decades of experience in national security acquisitions and operations to True Anomaly.

In his most recent role as the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration he was responsible for all architecture and integration with respect to acquisition of space systems and programs in the armed forces, as the chair of the Space Acquisition Council, and he oversaw and directed the space acquisition centers in the Department of the Air Force.  Calvelli was the first Senate-confirmed official to hold this critical position that was directed by Congress in the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, which concurrently established the United States Space Force. He has also held senior roles at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), including nearly a decade as the Principal Deputy Director of the NRO.

“Frank has had an unmatched career in public service and has been a driving force for modernizing defense and space acquisitions,” said Even Rogers, co-founder and CEO of True Anomaly. “True Anomaly is at a critical stage of growth and Frank will provide an invaluable perspective and ensure True Anomaly is well positioned to deliver the necessary capabilities for space security, dynamic space operations, and Guardian readiness – at scale.”

“I’ve long said that it is imperative for the U.S. government and allies to take advantage of non-traditional and commercial capabilities in order to maintain an advantage against our adversaries. True Anomaly is the perfect example of the type of private-sector company that is developing the capabilities to maintain leadership and define the strategic advantage,” said Calvelli. “The company is committed to the mission and has the right people, strategy, and product to execute. I’m thrilled to be part of the team and look forward to continuing to serve the space community in a new capacity.”
