The Honorable Jose Riojas appointed to ManTech Mission Solutions and Services Group Strategic Advisory Board
ManTech International Corporation of Fairfax, VA announced on January 4 the appointment of the Honorable Jose D. Riojas to the ManTech Mission Solutions and Services Group Strategic Advisory Board.
Nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Riojas served as assistant secretary for operations, security, and preparedness at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from May 2009 to July 2013. In July 2013, he transitioned to become chief of staff at the VA, where he managed day-to-day operations and strategic planning until departing in May 2015.
Prior to his VA service, Riojas was vice president for strategic initiatives at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where he was responsible for developing strategic initiatives in support of homeland security and immigration, homeland defense, and economic development. While at UTEP, he also served as the executive director of the Department of Homeland Security’s National Center for Border Security and Immigration, as well as the executive director for the Center for Defense Systems Research. Riojas also completed a distinguished 30-year military career in the U.S. Army, culminating as a brigadier general.
