Strategic Cyber Ventures leads $3.5M investment in Polarity
Strategic Cyber Ventures announced on February 27 it has led a $3.5 million investment in Polarity. Strategic Cyber Ventures is DC based and is led by cybersecurity veterans Tom Kellermann and Hank Thomas. Ron Gula, also a cybersecurity veteran and founder of Gula Tech Ventures, also participated in this series A round of funding. This new funding will be used to support future product development of the Polarity platform and expand the company’s engineering and technology development teams, as well as sales and marketing efforts.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, Polarity was developed by former intelligence officers and incident responders to bring the industry’s first commercial memory-augmentation platform to market. Polarity is used by the world’s largest financial institutions and gives users the software equivalent of a shared photographic memory. It provides a new way for security and IT professionals to communicate and does so in a manner that delivers crucial information to the right team members at the right time, according to the company.
“Polarity is what cyber analysts and operator teams have needed for years and leads to security team information dominance,” said Hank Thomas, COO and partner at Strategic Cyber Ventures. “It makes small teams bigger, big teams more lethal, and allows you to focus on actionable intelligence. Mission critical data, whatever the mission, comes to you with Polarity. It allows existing, often scarce resources, to scale beyond our wildest dreams. It is truly the future of search and will revolutionize intelligence, real-time cyber incident response and orchestration capabilities, and will quickly be adopted by sectors outside of security.”
Polarity also increases productivity and collaboration while minimizing costly mistakes, the company said. For example, instead of sending email or chat messages to communicate with team members, intelligence is put into Polarity. Polarity then recognizes the content of users’ computer screens and automatically delivers intelligence relevant to what the users are currently working on.
“I’ve never seen a product as versatile as Polarity,” said Ron Gula, founder of Gula Tech Ventures. “I use it to track attacks on my lab network across all of my security products and I also keep my LinkedIn contacts loaded. Polarity not only makes the job of sharing cyber security data instantly across any set of team and products you might have, but it can also be used to make your IT teams more efficient, your customer teams more responsive and even help you keep track of what you know in day-to-day business.”
“The world is wasting time searching for information that could automatically be overlaid on their computer screen,” added Paul Battista, CEO and co-founder of Polarity. “Partnering with Strategic Cyber Ventures and Gula Tech Ventures will enable us to better serve our existing customers and show the world what human memory augmentation is and why it’s so critical.”
