Space Force issues STEP 2.0 draft RFP
On October 18, the U.S. Space Force issued the draft RFP for the Space Test Experiment Platform (STEP) 2.0.
The Space Test Experiment Platform 2.0 STEP 2.0 program is seeking to establish a multiple award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity IDIQ contract with separate Delivery Orders DOs to procure proven spacecraft SC and space access for science and technology SandT experiments. The STEP 2.0 IDIQ contract vehicle provides Space Test Program STP the ability to execute DOs aligning payload PL, Space Vehicle SV, and launch vehicle LV schedules.
The SC to be procured within each DO will range in size from 12U CubeSats to EELV Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle Secondary Payload Adapter ESPA class, and any size in between. The SC shall be within the maximum mass requirements of a 12U to ESPA class vehicle. STP will define specific PL requirements in the Delivery Order DO Payload Requirements Document PLRD. The SC will serve as the platform to integrate SandT PLs to operate in either Low Earth Orbit LEO or Geosynchronous Equatorial Orbit GEO, as a class D system.
After industry day, scheduled for 25-27 October 2022, the Government will post a revised DRAFT RFP to allow potential offerors the ability to comment on the full Draft RFP prior to final RFP being released.
