Smartronix awarded $165M Navy TARCES task order
Smartronix of Hollywood, MD announced on March 14 that it has been awarded the Tactical and Remote Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Collaboration, and Intelligence (C5I) Edge Systems (TARCES) task order under the General Services Administration (GSA) Alliant Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). This five-year task order supports the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Special Communications Mission Solutions (SCMS) Division AD-4.11.4 at Webster Field in St. Inigoes, Maryland; and is valued at more than $165 million with all options exercised.
Under this effort, administered by the GSA Federal Systems Integration Management Center (FEDSIM), Smartronix and a subcontractor team will provide full spectrum Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) “cradle to grave” technical support to the warfighter. This support ranges from requirements definition through life cycle sustainment; and provides interoperability, supportability, and connectivity among a wide variety of fielded equipment. SCMS, as the Lead Systems Integrator for all TARCES deliverables, will call on Smartronix for a variety of services, to include research, design, engineering, development, analysis, prototyping, fabrication, integration, installation, test and evaluation, training, and logistics support of telecommunication and C5I systems, subsystems, and components.
“We are honored to have been selected as the prime contractor for the TARCES task order and look forward to working with our team, and with GSA FEDSIM, to deliver high-quality and responsive engineering services to SCMS,” said Steve Eastburg, executive vice president for Defense Solutions at Smartronix. “We are proud to be a part of the Southern Maryland defense community, where industry and Government embrace partnership as a means to strengthen our nation’s defense.”
