Registration is open for CERDEC TIM

On March 30, the U.S. Army posted an update about its upcoming Communications-Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center will hold a Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) (Solicitation Number: W56KGU18RX001).

The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center will hold a Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) with industry from 2 – 4 May 2018 at the Myer Auditorium on Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland.

The CERDEC TIM with Industry is an opportunity for industry to learn about CERDEC’s core mission and research and development plans and strategies. The 2018 CERDEC TIM will introduce a new format transitioning from small breakout sessions to large group sessions that will accommodate all attendees at one time. The large group sessions will present mission area details from the decomposition of requirements to the formulation of specific research and development activities. This interchange is intended to kick-off a series of focused industry engagements intended to maximize the mutual benefit of Independent Research and Development investments.

In order to make maximum use of industry’s creativity and innovation, the Army must work more closely with industry in the earliest stages of the product lifecycle, before requirements are firm and before design concepts are determined. The sooner industry learns of the Army’s interest in a new capability, the sooner industry can begin to explore or invest in applicable technologies and formulate ideas for Army consideration. The intent of the sessions will be to enhance Government-and-industry communication and enable industry to quickly respond to emerging requirements with innovative technology solutions and partnerships. This event will serve as the kick-off meeting, designed to:

  • Assist industry in identifying and aligning efforts with CERDEC’s Mission Areas
    • Articulate high-level capabilities and their technical requirements
    • Present technology roadmaps and CERDEC’s strategies to fulfill these needs

The event is currently planned to hold sessions at the Unclassified – For Official Use Only level and up to the SECRET level. Attendees must be U.S. citizens. Individuals desiring to attend on May 2nd or 3rd must have a favorable completion of at least a Tier 1 Personnel Security Investigation. Individuals attending the classified sessions on May 4th must have a favorable completion and adjudication of at least a Tier 3 Personnel Security Investigation. Visit requests are a mandatory component of the registration process. Visit requests MUST be submitted no later than 13 April. Additional details related to security requirements for the event can be found at the following CERDEC website: https://www.cerdec.army.mil/industryday/
Registration is open and can be located at the following CERDEC website: https://www.cerdec.army.mil/industryday/.
