NGA releases SFD Automation Dream RFI
On November 14, the National Geospatial-Intelligence agency posted a Request for Information for SFD Automation Dream RFI—Auto Feature Extraction and Attribute Population. Responses are due by 5:00 p.m. Eastern on December 13.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), in support of the Source Foundation Data Integration and Automation Office, is seeking information on how an interested vendor could:
Perform automated feature extraction of NGA’s most common Foundation GEOINT point, line, and polygon features from commercial imagery and/or other commercial or open sources.
Perform automated attribute population for Foundation GEOINT features from commercial imagery and/or other commercial or open sources.
The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gain information on Industry practices and capabilities that could increase the efficiency of the foundation feature workflow. This RFI expands on the July 2019 RFI, with the inclusion of additional feature types and exploring automated attribution capabilities.
The NGA Foundation GEOINT Group (SF) provides timely, relevant, and accurate data and products in support of the US Government. SF has a mission-critical need for automated feature extraction to enhance our data holdings in order to complete customer requirements in an on-demand and timely manner.
