NGA posts RFI for Applied Sciences Occupational Group support
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency posted a request for information for support to the Applied Sciences Occupational Group (ASOG). Responses are due August 2 no later than 4:00pm Central Time. Questions are due no later than 4:00pm Central Time on July 1.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is investigating industry capabilities to support the Applied Sciences Occupational Group (ASOG) tradecrafts at NGA. ASOG activities integrates data acquisition, modeling, analysis, and the management of spatially referenced data based on the scientific framework of geodesy, geophysics, geotechnical analysis, photogrammetry, elevation, orbital sciences, and bathymetry. ASOG uses terrestrial, marine, airborne, and satellite-based sensors, i.e. Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) like the Global Positioning System (GPS), to acquire spatial and related data to include the processes of transforming this spatially referenced data from different sources into common information systems with well-defined accuracy characteristics. Further the use of this information will be used to model other derivative data sets and provide error analysis that will be used to improve navigation and point positioning activities with in the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG).
