NGA developers graduate from LaunchCode
Seven National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency developers will graduate June 29 from a 13-week LaunchCode programming class, NGA announced June 27.
The ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the LaunchCode Mentor Center at 4811 Delmar Blvd., St. Louis.
NGA partnered with LaunchCode to create and teach the course to give the employees, who are from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels, a baseline of knowledge in geographic information systems mapping technology.
“The LaunchCode training is a hands-on way to get everyone familiar with NGA’s practices, tools and methods before they walk in the door,” said Jim Lewis, NGA software developer. “It’s also served as a team-building activity. New NGA employees already know five or six other developers when they start working.”
The employees will demonstrate their mapping projects during the graduation ceremony. Representatives from NGA and LaunchCode will speak to the graduates.
