NGA awards major multi-year contract to Intergraph® Government Solutions
Intergraph Government Solutions (IGS), a Madison, AL-based, wholly-owned subsidiary of Intergraph® Corporation serving the U.S. Federal market, announced on March 23 that it has been awarded a five-year contract by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
The contract provides for the purchase of IGS and Hexagon Geospatial software and related software maintenance. IGS and Hexagon Geospatial products are diverse and include the ERDAS product line, GeoMedia, and Cartographic Web Services (CWS), among others.
“We’re excited about what these technologies will do for NGA and its partners,” said Joe Fehrenbach, chief executive officer and president of IGS. “We strive for excellence in our products and services, and intend to deliver the same level of quality in all aspects of this contract award.”
Cartographic Web Services is a new IGS product that allows for cloud-based rapid map production, dramatically reducing the necessary man hours to produce an accurate map by as much as 75 percent. Accuracy and timeliness are crucial as these maps support a variety of mission-critical decisions by NGA and its mission partner community.
