New CYREN senior VP bolsters Cloud-based operational expertise
CYREN announced on Oct. 22 that it has named Kyung Ro as senior vice president of cloud infrastructure and client services.
Based at U.S. headquarters in McLean, VA, he joins the executive management team to serve as the global head of operations for the company’s worldwide cloud network infrastructure.
As the company continues its strategy of shifting from a component technology company to a cloud-based security solution provider, Ro will lead all data center operations, technology and capacity planning, and customer support.
Ro brings extensive experience in developing and managing cloud technology architectures as well as global operations supporting SaaS applications relied upon by thousands of organizations. Most recently serving as senior director of cloud services operations at Blackboard, one of the world’s leading education technology companies, he managed global operations strategy as well as international expansion and business continuity planning.
He previously served in senior roles at Blackboard for hosting operations, service delivery, and premium support services. Prior to Blackboard, Ro held various engineering positions at HP Agilent Technologies, CNT Corporation (now Brocade), and Zagros Networks.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University.
