LMI names Bradford Karony to lead national security operations

On September 5, Tysons, VA-based LMI announced that retired Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer Bradford Karony has been named director of national security operations. In this role, Karony will oversee an expanding service line whose core offerings include human, imagery, and signals intelligence support; intelligence training; and testing and evaluation of national security-specific machinery, equipment, and process protection.

Karony has more than 20 years of experience as an intelligence professional and manager for the CIA Directorate of Operations (DO) in CONUS and OCONUS assignments covering Europe, Southeast Asia, East Africa, the Middle East, Central America, and Southwest Asia. He joins LMI from the CIA’s DO Training Center, where he instructed and mentored new hires as a contractor.

Before joining the CIA, Karony served as battalion adjutant for a U.S. Marine Corps East Coast infantry battalion and was later part of the staff for a battalion landing team attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) during the Kosovo Campaign.

Karony holds a bachelor’s in German and a master’s in German literature from Brigham Young University.
