On April 14, Hitachi Federal (formerly Hitachi Vantara Federal) announced its new name and operating model, reflecting the organization’s enhanced ability to deliver the full breadth of Hitachi’s services and product portfolio to the U.S. federal government.
The expansion of Hitachi Federal’s portfolio reflects Hitachi’s commitment to meeting the growing government demand for integrated technology solutions and rapid access to best-in-class commercial innovation. Federal agencies are navigating a complex environment defined by exponential data growth, the operationalization of AI, hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, and the convergence of operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT). By evolving into Hitachi Federal, the organization expands its role from delivering data infrastructure to helping agencies operationalize AI, improve decision-making, strengthen resilience, and accelerate mission outcomes by bringing together the full Hitachi ecosystem in a secure, compliant, and mission-ready operating model.
Through Hitachi Federal, agencies can access a broader portfolio of solutions, including capabilities from Hitachi’s Digital, Energy, and Mobility sector companies. The organization will continue to deliver Hitachi Vantara’s data infrastructure and hybrid cloud platforms, alongside digital engineering and AI-driven services. Together with Hitachi Digital Services and GlobalLogic, Hitachi Federal can also provide end-to-end capabilities across cloud transformation, application modernization, and DevSecOps, as well as AI-native software development, digital product engineering, cloud-native application, and human-centered design.
In addition, agencies can leverage Hitachi’s expertise in areas such as energy and power grid modernization, transportation systems, and intelligent edge technologies, bringing together IT and OT capabilities to support complex, mission-critical environments, and enable more efficient, resilient, and responsive operations.
“Agencies are under increasing pressure to modernize critical systems while harnessing the power of data and AI to support mission outcomes,” said Mark Serway, president and CEO of Hitachi Federal. “With the launch of Hitachi Federal, we are bringing the full strength of Hitachi to the federal market through a single, trusted partner. By unifying our capabilities across infrastructure, data, and digital engineering with Hitachi’s domain expertise in critical systems like energy, mobility, and industry, we can help agencies reduce complexity, accelerate innovation, and deliver resilient, mission-ready solutions.”
