Frank Whitworth to become next NGA director

On February 4, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency announced that the U.S. Senate confirmed Navy Vice Adm. Frank D. Whitworth III as the eighth director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

Whitworth will take the helm at a ceremony later this year, and will replace Vice Adm. Robert Sharp, who is retiring after 33 years of service.

Whitworth currently serves as the director for intelligence on the Joint Staff in the Pentagon.
