DoD awards $551M enterprise-wide contract for McAfee products and services

McAfee of Reston, VA announced on July 31 that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded three companies spots on a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) worth up to $551 million over five years to provide McAfee products across the DoD. EC America (immixGroup, an Arrow Company), DLT Solutions and International Systems Marketing (ISM) will partner with McAfee to fulfill the enterprise-wide BPA through DoD’s Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) program.

The agreement provides the most current, commercially available McAfee products, maintenance and support for DoD, intelligence community, and Coast Guard activities worldwide. The McAfee offerings available through the BPA include data protection and encryption, database security, endpoint protection, network security, security analytics, security management, server security, security information and event management (SIEM), web security, and all McAfee warranty and support services.

“McAfee’s selection for the ESI program underscores the Pentagon’s strategic focus on security from the device all the way to the cloud and offers a streamlined path to acquire McAfee solutions,” said Alex Chapin, McAfee’s executive director, DoD and Intelligence Community. “This new award builds on our track record with the DoD as the department transitions to the latest McAfee tools and technologies, and we look forward to working with our partners to continue meeting DoD’s evolving needs.”

The DoD ESI is an official DoD initiative sponsored by the DoD Chief Information Officer to lead in establishing and managing enterprise commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) IT agreements, assets and policies. It lowers the total cost of ownership across the DoD, Coast Guard and Intelligence Communities for commercial software, IT hardware and services.
