DIA to host MARS industry day

On August 9, the Defense Intelligence Agency posted an Industry Day invitation for the MARS program. Registrations are due by 5:00 p.m. Eastern on September 6 for the September 10 event.

Overview: The Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Program Management Office will host an Industry Day at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, McLean, VA. The Event will provide industry with an update on the MARS program, potential upcoming opportunities in fiscal year 2020, and an opportunity to ask questions.

The core DIA mission is providing foundational military intelligence (FMI) to warfighters and decision-makers that delivers a comprehensive understanding of military capabilities, infrastructure and materiel in all domains: air, land, sea, space, and cyber.

Since the mid-1990s, the defense intelligence enterprise has stored FMI in numerous databases, most notably the “Modernized Integrated Database” (MIDB). The intelligence in MIDB supports every aspect of global military operations, including planning, combat operations, and joint force planning. MIDB can no longer meet the information demands of a 21st century military and decision makers. To meet these information needs and more, DIA will transform the existing MIDB into a comprehensive, adaptable, scalable, and rigorous data-centric environment.

Registration: Companies will be limited to a maximum of two (2) registrants. Registration will be closed upon reaching seating capacity or by Friday, 6 September 2019, whichever comes first. One individual registration per email. If multiple individuals want to attend from one company, then multiple registration emails are required.
