CACI awarded $62.5 million contract counter narco-terrorism contract
Arlington, VA-based CACI International Inc announced on November 25 that it has been awarded a $62.5 million contract to support counter narco-terrorism (CNT) work for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in Afghanistan and throughout CENTCOM’s area of responsibility (AOR). This task order was awarded under the rapid response 3rd generation contract vehicle and represents continuing work for CACI, reinforcing its presence in its Integrated Security Solutions market area.
CENTCOM’s CNT mission involves establishing and supporting CNT networks and infrastructure, protecting U.S. Armed Forces conducting CNT work, and providing law enforcement training to host nations in its AOR to disrupt narco-terrorist activities and organizations. CACIwill provide support in areas such as program management, advisement, training, and logistics for both CENTCOM and its military and civilian partner agencies.
CACI has been supporting this CENTCOM mission for the past five years with its full cadre of subject matter experts in all aspects of CNT. This team consists of former top-ranking military officers and officials from civilian agencies intimately involved in CNT work. The high-level experience of CACI personnel in combatting drug trafficking and terrorism gives them the functional expertise to support CENTCOM in developing measurable methods and goals for the program.
John Mengucci, CACI’s chief operating officer and president of U.S. operations, said, “This award allows CACI to continue to provide low-risk, quick-reaction, and agile support for the U.S. Central Command’s dynamic mission requirements in counter narco-terrorism work. CACI’s experienced personnel have developed metrics-driven solutions that ensure accountability for its team and quantifiable results for the customer.”
According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury, “CACI has built its strategic growth plan around supporting vital U.S. government missions. Our continued work on this counter narco-terrorism program is a cornerstone in ensuring the safety of our Armed Forces conducting this dangerous assignment and ultimately helping to shield our citizens at home from the ravages of terrorism and drugs.”
