Booz Allen Hamilton wins $20.2 million tactical communications contract
McLean, VA-based Booz Allen Hamilton announced on March 29 that it has been awarded a three-year, $20.2 million contract by the U.S. Army Project Manager Tactical Radios (PM TR) and the associated Product Management (PdM) Offices to provide a full range of programmatic, technical, and sustainment IT support services. The firm’s services will aid in the Army’s mission to provide warfighters with the most secure and technologically advanced tactical communications network systems.
“As an essential partner to the Armed Forces, Booz Allen will continue to bring the deep experience and skills sets needed to position the PM TR program for continued success,” said Brian McKeon, a Booz Allen Hamilton Executive Vice President and leader of the firm’s Army business. “This award reinforces our communications market strategy. We are pleased PM TR selected us to continue to partner with them in their important mission to deliver, maintain and upgrade mobile ad hoc networking waveforms and network enterprise services to enhance tactical warfighting capabilities.”
Through this contract, Booz Allen will build on existing support of the PM TR and PdM Offices’ mission to procure and field tactical radio network communications systems. This will be done using program management and acquisition techniques to help meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements with a minimum amount of risk. Booz Allen will give support to the newly transitioned Product Leader Waveforms in performing Software Defined Radio (SDR) waveform development, maintenance, and upgrades for the Army’s portfolio of advanced radios that can receive and transmit a wide array of radio protocols. In addition, Booz Allen will also assist the PM TR Product Managers, including Airborne and Maritime/Fixed Station, Handheld, Manpack and Small Form Fit, and Mid-tier Networking Vehicular Radio, as they work to achieve program objectives and establish processes, trainings, tools and templates to ensure continued success.
“This win is a testament to the strong support we have provided thus far to PM TR and presents Booz Allen with an exciting opportunity to further demonstrate our deep expertise in Software Defined Radios and Tactical Radio Acquisitions,” said Bill Schuler, Senior Vice President and Army C4ISR lead at Booz Allen Hamilton.
