Aydin Mohtashamian joins MTEQ as services and rapid development VP

MTEQ of Lorton, VA announced on May 10 the newest member of its executive team, Aydin Mohtashamian.  Mohtashamian comes to MTEQ from L3 where he spent 10 years in a variety of engineering, engineering management, and program management roles.  His most recent position was as director of program management at L3 Maritime Systems.  While at L3, he led several Navy C4ISR, ship automation/integration projects, and the development and installation of the first hybrid electric drive on a Navy Destroyer.  Prior to his time at L3, Mohtashamian spent 8 years in the Army and served two tours in Iraq.  Notably he spearheaded and managed logistical support for the first Iraqi free elections.

A West Point graduate, with an MBA and a MS in systems engineering, Mohtashamian brings a solid skill set, a proven ability to manage large project teams, and a superior record of delivering mission–critical projects on time and within budget, the company said.

“We are pleased to welcome Aydin to our team.” said Greg Williams, senior vice president at MTEQ. “He brings a unique blend of experience that will complement our leadership team.”

“I’m honored to become a part of MTEQ and embrace this new role.” Mohtashamian said.

Mohtashamian will lead MTEQ’s Service and Rapid Development Division, which provides on-site operational services as well as complex C4ISR research and development. In this role, Mohtashamian will help identify and calculate emerging technologies and rapidly developing solutions for MTEQ’s customers.
