Altamira announces new chief operating officer
Altamira Technologies Corporation (Altamira), based in McLean, VA, announced April 13 the appointment of Peter A. Kane as chief operating officer (COO) of the company succeeding retiring Wayne Cliburn who has served as COO for the past three years.
Peter Kane is responsible for all aspects of the company’s contract and program operational execution. He joined Altamira in October 2010 where he has lead the company’s Air Force Intelligence Account. He has played a critical role in the company’s geographic expansion as growth in locations like Dayton, Ohio and Tampa, Florida has driven new local operations. Kane holds a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering and developed a broad technical background engaging in the full life cycle of Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance and National Technical Means programs from core research through development, deployment and mission operations. He has an unparalleled track record of successful customer delivery over his more than 30-year career serving the US DoD and Intelligence Community market. Peter will integrate into the senior executive team during transition and will report directly to Ted Davies, Altamira’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
“I’d like to thank Wayne for his years of service to the company and wish him all the best in this next chapter of life,” said Altamira CEO Ted Davies. “Peter is a great successor for the COO role and has demonstrated the ability to position us as a top mid-market provider delivering some of the most innovative solutions which address our customer’s hardest national security problems.”
