Al Pisani joins Mission Essential as president

Herndon, VA-based Mission Essential announced in September the hiring of Al Pisani as president. Pisani will report directly to board chairman Gregory Miller.

“Al is the keystone in our strategy for the next phase of Mission Essential,” said Miller. “His personal mission is to update the company’s portfolio of services and operational approach to today’s volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous challenges.”

Charting the future of Mission Essential’s movement into adjacent and new markets, Pisani is responsible for expanding the company’s portfolio of language, intelligence, cyber, and C4ISR programs. Pisani brings more than 30 years of experience in providing engineering, technology, operations, and consulting services to the DoD, Intelligence, and Law Enforcement communities. Prior to joining Mission Essential, he held senior level positions in P&L, Business Development and Sales, as well as Corporate Development roles for respected firms of Dun & Bradstreet, Serco Inc., Northrop Grumman, and TASC.

Pisani will replace Sunil Ramchand, who stepped down after three years as chief executive officer. “Sunil was an integral part of Mission Essential for 10 years,” Miller said. “We are grateful for his leadership and his sacrifices on behalf of the company – we wouldn’t be where we are without him.”
