USX Cyber and Carahsoft partner

On August 18, USX Cyber, the company behind Guardient, a platform that unifies Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Security Operations Center (SOC), Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) into a single system, and Carahsoft Technology Corp. announced a partnership. Under the agreement, Carahsoft will serve as USX Cyber’s Master Government Aggregator, making its Guardient platform available to the Public Sector and the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) through Carahsoft’s reseller partners and NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V, The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS), OMNIA Partners, E&I Cooperative Services Contract and The Quilt contracts.

This partnership arrives at a pivotal moment for the DIB. With the Department of War’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), now appearing in contract language, more than 220,000 defense contractors and subcontractors must demonstrate CMMC Level 2 compliance to remain eligible for DoW work. For most small and mid-sized firms — the firms that make up the overwhelming majority of the DIB and the broader government contracting (GovCon) community — traditional compliance paths require 6 to 12 months, multiple disconnected tools and consulting fees that quickly exceed six figures. Guardient was purpose-built to compress that timeline, eliminate the tool sprawl and deliver continuous evidence as a natural byproduct of security operations.

“This partnership with Carahsoft is mission-critical for the DIB and the GovCon community,” said Clyde Goldbach, Founder and CEO of USX Cyber. “CMMC Level 2 is no longer a future requirement — it is in contract language today, and primes are demanding proof from their subcontractors right now. Carahsoft’s reach into every corner of the Public and Private Sectors means we can put Guardient directly into the hands of the contractors who need it, the way they need to buy it. Together, we are giving the DIB the easiest, fastest and most cost-effective path to CMMC Level 2 readiness in the market.”

Guardient unifies XDR (Sentry), 24/7 U.S.-based SOC-as-a-Service (OverWatch), GRC and compliance automation (Compliance Command), unified operations and visibility (WatchDesk), SOAR-based automated response (Reactor) and Remote Monitoring and Management (Guardient RMM), every module sharing one data layer. Security controls are enforced continuously, and the same activity that protects the environment automatically generates the evidence required for CMMC Levels 1, 2 and 3, NIST 800-171, SOC 2 Type I and II, HIPAA, ISO 27001 and CIS Controls v7 and v8. Organizations using Guardient can typically reach full audit readiness in approximately 90 days and save tens of thousands of dollars annually by replacing four to six separate tools and consulting engagements. Guardient also supports monitoring in Microsoft GCC High and includes a FIPS-compliant RMM capability — both essential for handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) under CMMC Level 2.

“Carahsoft is committed to providing the DIB and public sector with the tools they need to meet the cybersecurity standards required by today’s mission environment,” said Alex Whitworth, CMMC solutions executive at Carahsoft. “USX Cyber’s Guardient platform is a strong addition to our Cybersecurity Solutions Portfolio, giving defense contractors and government agencies a single, unified solution that delivers continuous security and CMMC-aligned compliance evidence at the same time. Together with our reseller partners, we look forward to helping more organizations achieve and sustain CMMC Level 2 readiness, faster and more affordably than ever before.”
