On June 30, AEVEX Corp. announced the appointment of Murali Krishnan as chief growth officer, bringing more than two decades of executive leadership experience across defense technology, space systems, advanced sensors, and national security mission solutions. Krishnan will lead AEVEX’s growth strategy, including global business development, customer engagement, strategic partnerships, and long‑term market expansion initiatives.
In this role, Krishnan will work closely with the executive leadership team to accelerate AEVEX’s growth across unmanned systems, advanced mission solutions, and technology-enabled defense capabilities. He will guide growth planning and drive alignment across strategy, programs, and customer priorities as AEVEX scales to meet the evolving needs of U.S. and partner‑nation defense communities.
Krishnan joins AEVEX from Northrop Grumman Space Systems, where he served as sector vice president and general manager for the Payload and Ground Systems Division, leading a broad portfolio of national security, defense, and civil space programs. Prior to that, Krishnan served as sector vice president of strategic growth for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, overseeing strategy, business development, government relations, customer engagement, and international growth. He also previously led the Tactical Fighters business unit, providing EO and RF sensor solutions for multiple fighter platforms across production, development, and sustainment cycles.
Before joining Northrop Grumman, Krishnan held senior leadership roles at L3Harris Technologies, including president of the electro optical sector within Integrated Mission Systems and vice president/general manager of the ISR business unit. Earlier in his career, he held executive program management roles at Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems and Missile Systems segments and worked as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company, specializing in strategy development, operational efficiency, cost reduction, and M&A.
Krishnan served 11 years as an F‑15C pilot in the U.S. Air Force, accumulating more than 1,500 hours in fighter aircraft.
“Murali is an exceptional leader with a strong combination of operational experience, deep technical understanding, and proven success guiding large-scale growth across the defense technology sector,” said Roger Wells, chief executive officer of AEVEX. “His strategic mindset, customer-centric leadership style, and track record of delivering results in highly complex mission environments will be pivotal as AEVEX continues to expand its capabilities and deliver next-generation solutions to our customers.”
