Chris Fonzone confirmed as ODNI General Counsel
On June 22, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines issued the following statement in response to the Senate’s confirmation of Chris Fonzone as ODNI general counsel:
“Congratulations to Chris Fonzone on his confirmation as ODNI’s next General Counsel. We are incredibly lucky to have Chris lead our legal office. In addition to being an extraordinary lawyer with a wealth of experience, having served in the White House, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Justice, he is also someone with great integrity and empathy. The Intelligence Community will benefit greatly from his legal acumen on the complex, emerging issues we face today. I look forward to working with Chris.”
“As we welcome Chris, I would also like to thank Brad Brooker for serving as ODNI’s Acting General Counsel over the last 16 months. Brad is an incredible person who skillfully oversaw and navigated legal matters within our agency and provided strong coordination throughout the IC. He has our admiration and will remain a valuable leader in ODNI’s General Counsel Office, allowing us to continue benefitting from his knowledge and wisdom.”
