PSI acquires KINEX

Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI) of Arlington, VA announced on September 17 that it has acquired KINEX, Inc., a company in business for over 20 years providing mission-critical technology, modeling and simulation, software development, cybersecurity and data solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Communities. This acquisition expands PSI’s current contract and customer base, adding critical cyber and data technical capabilities to strengthen the company’s service offerings to its federal, state, local and commercial clients, PSI said.

Founded in 1995, KINEX initially supported prime DoD contractors with expertise in network and system administration. Over time, KINEX’s addition of software development provided a vertically-integrated, system perspective to its offerings. KINEX has expanded into the commercial market through its expertise in scalable and secure infrastructures. The company’s software development capabilities have grown from system modeling and integration of distributed applications to include 3D visualizations and gaming technologies.

“PSI and KINEX are joining together to be greater than the sum of our parts,” said Terry Lin, PSI CEO. “We’re thrilled to welcome them into the PSI family, and to continue our mission to provide exemplary technical solutions to our clients, while maintaining a top-notch, engaged workplace for our employees.”

Steve Webster, KINEX president, added, “We’re very excited about the synergy that will be created by joining these two companies. KINEX’s dedicated team members look forward to joining PSI and to continuing to serve critical national security and government missions.”
