Tempus Applied Solutions awarded $24.4M contract to provide USNORTHCOM with ISR aerial platform support
Tempus Applied Solutions announced on October 5 that it has been awarded a sub-contract from Patriot Group International LLC of Warrenton, VA to provide airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) services in support of U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM). Tempus airborne ISR services will be provided as an element of a more comprehensive Counter Narcotics and Global Threats (CN>) contract that was awarded to Patriot earlier this year.
Under the sub-contract, Williamsburg, VA-based Tempus will utilize highly modified turbo prop aircraft and will provide all flight crew, maintenance services, logistics support and secure facilities. Tempus expects to conduct more than 1,500 mission hours annually in support of the NORTHCOM CN> mission. “Supporting NORTHCOM and Patriot Group with our unique aviation assets and dedicated professional aviators and technicians is a mission that we are proud and honored to be a part of” stated Tempus Chief Executive Officer Scott Terry.
NORTHCOM’s CN> mission is to conduct operations and activities to disrupt and degrade national security threats posed by drug trafficking, piracy, transnational organized crime and threat finance networks related to illicit activities.
Tempus and its predecessor companies have been conducting special mission aircraft operations and ISR missions for a variety of U.S. Department of Defense customers for nearly a decade. As part of this NORTHCOM contract, Tempus will be integrating the latest in airborne surveillance hardware and software technology into Pilatus PC-12 aircraft that have been a mainstay of the Tempus fleet of aircraft since 2009.
