BAE Systems hosts GEOINT hackathon

McLean, VA-based BAE Systems recently demonstrated its capabilities in advancing geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) technology during a successful hackathon held as part of the Mission Advantage  technology partnership program.

BAE Systems brought together top strategic partners and leading experts in artificial intelligence (AI) and data fusion—including AWS, Google, and Microsoft—to accelerate and drive innovative dual-use commercial technology into customer missions. The hackathon allowed the teams to identify solutions and frameworks aligned to these missions to provide the warfighter a competitive edge in decision-making by using AI to integrate and analyze data.

“We are dedicated to pushing the envelope in GEOINT technology and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customers both through our intelligence-as-a-service capabilities and the industry’s ability to source and analyze data sets,” said Peder Jungck, vice president and general manager of BAE Systems Intelligence Solutions. “Through events like this hackathon, we not only showcase our expertise but also foster collaboration and innovation across the industry.”

The outcomes of the hackathon and future events will push the boundaries of what is possible in the field of GEOINT with advancements in automated object detection, accelerated analytic workflows, and enhanced data integration capabilities. These dynamic and scalable intelligence solutions are paving the way for breakthroughs that will shape the future of national security and defense while meeting the evolving needs of customers in a rapidly changing landscape.

“These types of events empower us to build stronger relationships and reinforce the critical mission of our defense industrial base,” said Daniel Perkins, director of strategy & technology partnerships for BAE Systems Intelligence & Security. “Mission Advantage enables us to be agile and rapidly prototype capability by bringing in our strategic partners around a common mission problem faster than before.”
