Sotera names John Pitsenberger as EVP and CFO

Sotera 112Sotera Defense Solutions (Sotera), a Herndon, VA-based provider of mission-critical, technology-based systems, solutions and services for national security agencies and programs of the U.S. Government announced on September 8 that John Pitsenberger has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Deb Alderson, Sotera’s President & CEO, commented on the promotion, “John has done an incredible job as Sotera’s Corporate Controller over the past two years, and his strong leadership and keen financial expertise make him an ideal Chief Financial Officer. He is highly respected in government contracting, and in this new role he will have a positive impact for Sotera’s future.” Mr. Pitsenberger will report directly to Ms. Alderson.

“I am honored to transition into the role of CFO of this growing company,” Pitsenberger said. “I look forward to working with Sotera’s talented senior management team as we build on the company’s prime position.”

Pitsenberger’s career includes serving in financial leadership roles at both publicly traded and private-equity backed companies.  Prior to joining Sotera, Pitsenberger was the Vice President and Corporate Controller for PAE through 2013. Earlier in his career he has held various accounting, finance, and planning positions at companies including Iron Bow Technologies, Apptis, Deltek, and American Management Systems (now CGI) from 1998 to 2012. Pitsenberger began his career in public accounting at Beers & Cutler, PLLC (now Baker Tilly).  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from theUniversity of Maryland and is a certified public accountant.
