SAIC introduces CyberSecurity Edge
Cyber-attacks disrupt activities and steal information every day. Science Applications International Corp. on August 26 launched CyberSecurity Edge, an adaptive cybersecurity solution that offers advanced data security and mitigates vulnerabilities to ensure customers are protected from hackers, viruses and malware.
CyberSecurity Edge is SAIC’s holistic, agile, and adaptive approach to securing modern data. Its architecture is designed to help thwart operational disruption, intellectual property loss and fraud, and loss of public trust that often results from cyber-attacks.
“Helping our clients anticipate and respond in this hyper-connected world is one of our top priorities. SAIC’s expertise in providing intelligence, data security, and cyber support to the U.S. government yielded CyberSecurity Edge,” said sector president Doug Wagoner. “This solution provides maximum data security readiness and responds to advanced persistent cyber threats, multiple platforms, and unstructured data. SAIC’s approach takes the full data lifecycle into consideration to facilitate cyber resilience, mitigate risks, and anticipate the next threat.”
No single software vendor or services company can meet a customer’s complete cybersecurity needs, regardless of how many experts they employ, said an SAIC news release. With this in mind, SAIC has teamed with leading cybersecurity vendors to develop CyberSecurity Edge. SAIC’s solution offers customers a tiered approach that leverages their existing infrastructure to secure their data. SAIC begins with a non-intrusive assessment that finds vulnerabilities and documents risk.
Once complete, SAIC’s scalable mitigation process, which includes integration of best-of-breed solutions, automates and optimizes security enhancements, ultimately remedying these vulnerabilities. Finally, ongoing cybersecurity management is offered to best suit the customer’s requirements. This may be in the form of security-as-a-service through a security operations center, or on-premise security subject matter experts to work within a customer’s infrastructure.
“Along with our strategic partners, SAIC’s force of more than 350 cybersecurity professionals is ready to protect our customers’ interests today and for the future,” said the company.
“SAIC’s approach is efficient, easily adopted, and cost-effective. This is the next-generation cybersecurity solution that helps secure data in modern digital environments – online, cloud, and mobile,” said SAIC Vice President of Cyber, Cloud, and Data Science Charles Onstott. “If it has an IP address, we can leverage the best-in-class technologies to enable the secure environment that our customers rely on.”
CyberSecurity Edge is repeatable, scalable, and tailored to meet customer compliance requirements and is aligned with best practices, such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology risk management framework.
