Riverside Research announces new president and CEO
New York, NY-based Riverside Research announced on Marh 21 the appointment of Dr. Steven Omick as president and chief executive officer, effective March 28, 2016.
Dr. Omick brings over 28 years of research and executive leadership experience in the private sector and defense and intelligence industries to Riverside Research, a not-for-profit research organization best-known for its expertise in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. He holds a Bachelor’s, a Master’s, and a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, and has led research programs and published in the field of computational electromagnetics.
“Dr. Omick brings a wealth of knowledge that will facilitate his seamless transition to Riverside Research,” said Thomas Pitts, Riverside Research Chairman of the Board. “We are confident his technical acumen and business background will serve him well as he leads the company on its successful path into the future.”
Most recently, Dr. Omick was president of Vencore Labs, previously known as Applied Communications Sciences, a leading provider of research in cyber security, advanced networking, data analytics, machine learning, mobility, and radio frequency communications, sectors important to Riverside Research’s growth. Preceding Vencore Labs, Dr. Omick was president and chief executive officer of Rincon Research Corporation, a leading provider of digital signal processing products and engineering services for the U.S. Government Intelligence Community.
Dr. Omick succeeds Richard Annas, who has served as Riverside Research’s president since 2010. Annas will stay on for a short period of time to assist with the transition.
