Paul Nakasone joins Armadin board

On October 29, Armadin, an AI-native cybersecurity company building effective autonomous security, announced the appointment of four-star General Paul Nakasone, U.S. Army (Ret.), as an independent member of its board of directors.

General Nakasone comes from a family with three generations of Army service and has dedicated nearly 40 years to the military culminating as director of the National Security Agency and commander of United States Cyber Command. During his tenure from 2018 to 2024, he pioneered the strategy of persistent engagement, leading efforts to dismantle ISIS online, counter Iranian cyber threats, and protect Ukraine from Russian malware. He established the NSA’s Cybersecurity Directorate, Cybersecurity Collaboration, and Artificial Intelligence Security Centers during his tenure. General Nakasone currently serves as the founding director of Vanderbilt University’s Institute of National Security.

“General Nakasone is one of the most respected leaders in cybersecurity and national security. His perspectives on strategy and execution will be invaluable as Armadin pursues its growth initiatives,” said Kevin Mandia, CEO of Armadin.

Nakasone’s career in offensive operations, agentic AI, and national security infrastructure is directly relevant to Armadin’s platform and the customers it serves. Enterprises in critical infrastructure, financial services, and the defense industrial base face AI-enabled threats at a scale no human-led defense can match. Nakasone has spent nearly 40 years operating at the highest levels of security, and his view of what proof of security requires is not theoretical.

“Defending the nation’s critical systems requires continuous validation against adversaries who never pause. Armadin is bringing the discipline of persistent engagement to the organizations operating on the front lines of national and economic security, testing, hardening, and revalidating their defenses at machine speed,” said General Nakasone. “I look forward to working alongside Kevin and the Armadin team to advance collective defense and help organizations build the resilience an evolving threat environment demands.”

Armadin exited stealth in March 2026 with a platform purpose-built for the age of agentic adversaries and is running agentic attack campaigns in production for Fortune 500 enterprises and government customers.
