Oasis Systems acquires MAR, Incorporated
Oasis Systems, a Lexington, MA-based provider of Information Technology, Systems Engineering and Enterprise Applications to the Department of Defense, announced today that it acquired Maryland-based MAR, Incorporated in an all-cash transaction. MAR, Incorporated was founded in 1971 and is a high quality provider of Systems Engineering and Integration, Information Technology/Cyber Security, Specialized Facilities Management, and Intelligence and Special Programs to the U.S. Navy and other Federal Agencies.
Commenting on the acquisition, Mike Norcio, MAR, Incorporated CEO and owner said, “In this current environment, with constrained customer budgets, very competitive procurements and increased regulations, it just made good business sense to combine with a high quality firm in order to gain scale and a larger platform to do business. Oasis brings that capability, so MAR is pleased to join them. We are very excited about the combined future for our employees and customers.”
Tom Colatosti, CEO of Oasis Systems, added, “Mike’s vision and mine are perfectly aligned in that we share the same values with regard to creating an environment where we attract, develop, motivate and retain the best people in the industry; where they have the opportunity to work on interesting and mission-critical programs and are encouraged to achieve their full potential and career aspirations. Equally, MAR and Oasis are synergistically aligned to provide unsurpassed quality, value and cost-effective solutions to our customers and potential customers.”
Colatosti went on to say, “MAR is a quality company with incredibly talented people and a terrifically loyal customer base, I am confident that together we will bring additional synergistic capabilities to the market that will improve our competiveness to maintain and grow our business.”
“Most importantly”, Colatosti concluded, “Mike has built a wonderful company and a great team. I am thrilled that the entire MAR Leadership Team has agreed to remain with the company. I am particularly pleased that not only will there be seamless continuity with MAR, but also that I will have the privilege to work alongside the people whom I respect and who built this successful company. Together, we are going to build an even more successful business than what could ever be achieved as two stand-alone companies.”
Combined, Oasis will have about two dozen locations across the United States providing Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) programs; IT and Cyber Capability; and Systems Engineering and Marine Operations in support of warfighters across the globe.
