Northrop Grumman names M. Roman Hachkowski general manager of adaptive optics company, AOA Xinetics
Northrop Grumman Corporation of Falls Church, VA and its strategic business unit, AOA Xinetics, announced on September 17 the appointment of M. Roman Hachkowski as general manager of the business.
Hachkowski joins Northrop Grumman with years of optical systems experience in developing and bringing to market complex defense, government and industrial products and services. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, he worked for General Dynamics, BAE Systems, ZYGO and Goodrich (UTAS). Among his career accomplishments, Hachkowski is credited with several patents on a segmented mirror for an optical space telescope.
Hachkowski holds a bachelor’s degree from MIT in aeronautics and astronautics, as well as a master’s and doctorate in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
“Roman brings his extensive experience in optics to AOA Xinetics and will help introduce the company’s unmatched technologies to new markets,” said Chris Yamada, vice president, aerospace products business unit, Northrop Grumman. “For over 20 years, AOA Xinetics has been a leader in managing and manipulating photons, and Roman has the expertise to bring the company to the next level.”
AOA Xinetics, a Northrop Grumman company and part of the aerospace products group, designs, develops and manufactures a wide variety of standard and custom electro-optic and optomechanical systems for government, industrial and commercial customers. Since the company’s inception, AOX has been manipulating light from undersea to the edges of the universe, providing customers with the highest quality products and services.
