Norse Corporation names Jacinta Tobin as SVP of Global Sales
Norse, a supplier of live attack intelligence, announced on August 26 the appointment of industry leader Jacinta Tobin to serve as the company’s first senior vice president of global sales.
Named in May 2013 as one of the top 50 most influential women in technology by Silicon Valley Global magazine, Tobin will spearhead all of Norse’s global growth initiatives.
“With her extensive industry experience, blend of strategy and execution skills and reputation as a game changing deal maker, we are confident that Jacinta is the right person to help Norse attain industry leadership.”
“Norse is an industry game changer, with insight into cyber warfare and fraud that does not exist elsewhere,” said Tobin. “The company provides actionable intelligence and threat analysis to organizations such as financial services, eCommerce, social networks, service providers, health care and government. I am excited to join an elite group of professionals who are focused on ‘fighting the good fight’.”
Tobin has been working in security for more than 12 years and contributed to many industry groups. She was a member of the board of directors at the Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG) from 2004 to 2011 and is now ambassador for the group.
Tobin has more than 20 years of experience in leading global sales, business development and marketing for technology start-ups on three continents. Most recently, as CMO of Cloudmark, she was responsible for leading their global growth strategy and marketing activities.
Prior to that, Tobin put Cloudmark on the map as the company’s senior vice president of global sales and business development, growing revenues by more than 10 times, building the customer base from zero to over 100 mobile operators, service providers and social networks and establishing Cloudmark as a global leader in the industry.
Prior to Cloudmark, Tobin drove global sales and business development for companies such as Communigate Systems, a carrier grade messaging provider, the data warehousing division of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and the financial services division of the Misys Group.
“We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Jacinta’s caliber join the Norse management team, and we are very excited by the prospect of her leading our global sales and business development,” said Norse CEO Sam Glines. “With her extensive industry experience, blend of strategy and execution skills and reputation as a game changing deal maker, we are confident that Jacinta is the right person to help Norse attain industry leadership.”
Norse recently introduced the DarkWatch attack intelligence offering, the first solution of its kind to protect large networks from new, fast-growing classes of “grey threats,” such as those from cloud vectors and compromised embedded devices, and stop enterprise data from being stolen via Tor and other anonymous proxies. DarkWatch plugs a critical gap in enterprise security infrastructures with an advanced artificial intelligence engine that distills second-by-second updates on thousands of risk factors on hundreds of millions of IP addresses, domains, URLs and devices to deliver a single, actionable risk score with detailed context for any address of interest.
