NGA releases Defender update
On May 28, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) posted an update about the Defender acquisition.
Following feedback from industry, the Government is considering a modified Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) approach under Defender which would allow OCI mitigation at the subcontractor level while maintaining total OCI avoidance at the prime contractor level.
Given this potential change in OCI approach, in conjunction with industry feedback received in response to the DRFP and the subsequent Q&A posted by the Government on 20 May 2021, the Government plans to follow up with the non-conflicted small businesses who indicated an intent to prime to obtain additional information on corporate capabilities and staffing in order to finalize market research. These requests will be sent via email on or around 1 June 2021.
Full information, including NGA’s answers to industry questions and feedback on the draft RFP, is available here.
